To Speak Movie out on DVD

To Speak MovieCraig Ower, Director of To Speak – a movie about the work of Tabitha in Cambodia, has asked us to let everyone know that the DVD of the movie will hit the shelves in Singapore very shortly. Releases for the US, Europe etc are in the works.

“To Speak” is the literal translation from Khmer of the name of a special Cambodian community development organisation (known as Tabitha in English).  It is the intent of “To Speak” to give voice, in a small way, to the millions of Cambodians who struggle daily to confront the trauma of their past and rebuild their shattered lives.

Shot in Cambodia with an entirely local cast, To Speak has been shown in festivals around the world.

Project Hammer Fundraising update

Back in July, we introduced Project Hammer 2009, the 4th annual Cambodia Charity project, benefiting Tabitha and other Cambodian community projects organized by InterContinental Hotels Group Asia Pacific. The various activities culminated in a fantastic fundraising dinner held on August 28th at the Hotel InterContinental Singapore, honored by the attendance of The Cambodian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Singapore HE Mrs. Sin Serey.

While Hotel General Manager John Nielsen and his team did a fantastic job with the dinner, Hamish Brown, Singapore Radio Gold 90.5FM talk-show host was at his best to make participants part with their money during both the silent and active auctions. A record over SGD 120.000 has been raised already, far outpacing last years amounts.
